Residents celebrate an assisted living facility
FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) — Residents of The Vineyards California Armenian Home had a treat Wednesday as the community celebrated the end of two years of COVID-19 restrictions.
The Disney-themed parade featured the Roosevelt High School pep and cheer team, the Fresno Corvette club, and grand marshall Mickey Mouse. Miss City of Fresno 2022 Ashlyn Cruise also made an appearance.
Dennis Bacopulos, Board Liason for the California Armenian Home Board of Directors, says that the event is meant to create a sense of family and connectivity with the residents.
The Vineyards California Armenian Home is a non-profit company that has been serving the community for 70 years.

In mid-June of 2016, the California Armenian Home in Fresno embarked on a massive expansion project, named The Vineyards, the grand opening of which took place on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Flags Raised Over The Vineyards, Sanger Herald, 1-25-18
Harry Paul remembered playing the same location back in the 1940s.
But the site had changed. Dramatically.
“We played when there was nothing here,” he said. “Just dirt.”
Paul performed with the Armenian-American Citizen League Band back then. On Jan. 17, Paul and members of the Sounds of Freedom band brought their instruments and provided the soundtrack to the flag raising at the California Armenian Home’s $45 million expansion, dubbed The Vineyards. The dirt was gone. In its place was a meticulously designed grounds around a facility that likely has exceeded the dreams of the original founders.
